Our New House BEFORE Renovating (A VIDEO!)

So, we're all moved in (or our small stuff is, at least!) We are starting to fix up the house this week, and we have a long list of things to do that should take a few weeks, but wanted to share our home as it is before!

It's funny, because our last house that we bought was really aesthetically pleasing from the get-go, with beautiful wood floors, but the kitchen and bathroom were GROSS and had to be totally gutted. This house is opposite - the kitchen is our taste, and the bathroom is already redone. The natural light is beautiful, but the house needs new floors, a new paint job, and lots of small updates such as new light fixtures, new knobs on cabinets, and some walls taken down. They're all small cosmetic changes, so we'll make sure to share our progress! XO

Moving Peeks

Moving looks a lot like this right now - all of our things are in a storage unit while we renovate the new place, and these are our last few days in our current home sleeping on an air mattress in an empty apartment. hey, at least it looks pretty! i sort of love an empty apartment ... guilty pleasures. I'll be back later this week with a home tour, sharing the before pictures of our new place!

we pick apples too, even if it's cliche.

It's that time of the year when you want to do it ALL, but there's never enough time before it's freeeezing. we had a chance to sneak out east and pick apples, AND i baked a pie from scratch!

it has been a very hectic week over here. our house is all packed up, and our POD arrives on saturday! hopefully we can get our new place renovated in a reasonable amount of time so we can settle in. sorry if i ghost a bit on here, but you can always find my on instagram! stay tuned for a "before" house tour... i am excited to bring you through renovations with us!

A Fall Day in Cold Spring, NY

the fall is our favorite time to explore all that NY has to offer - out east, upstate, long island .. there's so many amazing towns all over the state just waiting to be discovered. cold spring is one of them! we spent the day trying out coffee shops and exploring antique shops and local businesses, like this adorable cold spring general store. matt picked up a sweater with a bison on it, and i got oatmeal soap!

i wish i had endless hours to see all of the small towns, and i feel like one day maybe we will even spend part of the year in one of these towns, because we love them so much. NYC city is great, but there's a quiet beauty to all of these amazing local shops. We'll share more soon!

so much news in so much plaid.

So, i guess i have beat around the bush a little bit, mentioning little tidbits on instagram and snapchat, but we are moving... AGAIN! we're not going far, just getting a place that has a bit more space. I wanted to make sure it was a sure thing before i shared, and now i can happily say it is, and we should be moving in the next week or so! i will definitely make a house tour video and show you the place before we fix it up (i wasn't so great at that with our current home!) moving is SO stressful, especially with my work schedule of leaving to work around 7AM and not getting home until 6PM. when is there time for life? lol

I am also really excited to partner up with Unique Vintage for the next 3 months as a style society member! they have such adorable retro clothing, and have worked with so many women who inspire me daily! This plaid shirt has become an instant fall staple, especially amongst this moving chaos. Nothing better than something you can throw on in a second ;)

Montauk Lighthouse

Some would say Matt and I are crazy, because we are constantly on the go, doing and seeing new things, but we don't mind a drive in order to explore! They say it's more about the journey than the destination, and that's my favorite part about roadtrips!

The lighthouse was the icing on the cake, but the trip to Montauk, stopping at farmstands along the way seeing endless beautiful, ripe pumpkins was the best part by far! October is already halfway thru, and we have tons more to do! Xo

The Highline

Black legging jeans paired with black pointy boots make my legs feel a million miles long (longer than they actually are, at least!) It is always one of my go-to looks in the Fall/Winter months, and these True Religion jeans are so comfortable to boot.

The Highline is one of my favorite places to relax (& snap photos) in NYC - it's my "runway" of choice, i guess you could say! The city views are unreal, and i just adore the mixture of concrete and nature. If you're ever in the city, it is a must-see!

Camping Peeks

Matt and I are travelers. If we could, we'd spend 100% of our time seeing the world. But traveling is expensive! Between gas, hotels or air bnb's and food, it ends up costing more than day-to-day life.

We've solved this problem with camping! It's such a lovely way to take a weekend getaway, but not break the bank. We have a little 2-person tent, a camp stove, an air mattress and some warm sleeping bags! We're going again this next weekend and we cannot wait!!

I'm pretty predictable when it comes to the bottoms I choose to wear- high waisted skirts, yup. skinny jeans, yup. high-wasited maxi skirts, yup. but this fall i want to be more experimental, i am forcing myself to be! enter- these Joe B. NY Fit Bootcut Pants. how fun, guys??? such a laid back daytime look, but it's also something different for me. i'm into it...

... to see these pants styled in a fun night look, pop over to Joe B's Facebook and Instagram! You can also buy em' at Kohls!

Montauk Off-Season

Some places are more beautiful when the "season" ends - there's a ton of those place in NY. It can be overwhelming finding a place to stay, parking or even getting into a restaurant to eat dinner in Montauk during the summer months. It has become a party destination, but it truly is so much more! It has such great campsites, beaches and hiking to offer, so we usually wait until September/ October to stop by (here's our trip from last year!)

With the Fall season growing shorter and shorter, we fully soaked in this PERFECT day and spent all of it outside hiking around the coastline. We grabbed coffee and tacos at bliss kitchen which was so yummy. The best part? Claude came too!

p.s. thank you for all of your stories and advice on my last post, it helped SO much, and i definitely want to try to eat more iron instead of just taking the pills!
