confession: this is my very first tree. i guess i will call it a "holiday tree" since technically i don't celebrate christmas (even though i do spend it with someone who does, usually). growing up, i was always in love with the festivities that go along with christmas, like the lights and the trees, and the coziness that christmas decorations bring to a home. matt and i decided that in our first year of marriage, we are creating our own traditions and breaking the rules on what we should and should not do that we followed during our childhoods. i always felt slightly left out from my friends who received presents under the tree and believed in santa claus, and i never want to feel that way again!
it was sort of silly, because we both know nothing about the process of getting a tree. i never knew how they stood up, or that they need to have water underneath, and matt had no idea what a tree skirt was/is. we figured it out though, and now we have a baby tree in our home! it brings me so much happiness every night! have you picked your tree yet?
