here is a highly romanticized version of "summer in florida." sometimes it IS this good. but most days it's too humid, too hot and you would rather be inside soaking in air conditioning. i guess you just have to be in the mood for sweltering weather, and dressed right. i was a typical florida gal on this day... i threw on easy breezy overalls, snatched up some perfect vintage and then met matt and his friends at the beach with some muffins.
okay, so here is a little open discussion i've been stuck on for a bit--- two piece or one piece swimsuit? i invested in this little number up above because i think one piece bathing suits are ADORABLE and also classy. sometimes i feel like my body is too sacred to flaunt on a beach for total strangers. but i also feel a little bit granny in the one piece. what do you guys wear all summer?

You need one of those super high waisted bikinis they are showing now! So vintage, you only show a small strip of skin by your rib cage and you don't have to feel too modest :) in fact... I think I may need one too!

I know what you mean about the swimming suits. I got an adorable one piece too, that I love. Others liked it too, but there were times it felt very old-lady when everyone ELSE is in a bikini. I like the idea of a vintage bikini too.

I love the carefree-ness of the overalls, perfect for hanging out at the beach. I feel like overalls are making a come back, I may have to try them out this summer :)
As for your question about swimsuits, I'm on the fence about one-piece vs. two piece, I agree that one-pieces are super cute and classic, but I have a little bit of a tummy and I feel that one pieces emphasize that a little more than a two-piece...could be just me though! haha :)

Actually, I love your one-piece! I've been looking for a retro-esque one-piece (not that I have anywhere to wear it -- no beaches here, and the pools are GROSS!). Still, I like wearing both types of swimsuits, but I'm leaning toward one-pieces since I've gained a bunch of weight.

I adore everything you wear, but those overalls are soo cute! I wish i had a pair. haha. Swimsuits...a girls worst night mare, especially when shopping for them. I personally wear two piece swimsuits all summer, but if i can find totally adorable one piece i would wear either. I did see someone else post this before, they do now make kinda retro two pieces now you should try. Why not? :)

You are the cutest! I miss the beach so much here in Colorado during the summer. So, I have always been a two piece girl, I only own one (nike) one piece for swimming laps at gyms, etc, which is atrocious. That said, I have been highly considering going for a one piece this year! I don't think you look granny at all, just cute and classy! :)

I tooootally agree with you on how you feel in bikinis! I feel the same way! And honestly I think it's a great attitude to have about bathing suits. I've always worn a tankini or one piece, but lately I've really been liking vintage-inspired bikinis. You know, with the high waisted bottoms and cute tops...they don't show too much skin, only a little more so than a one piece! And they're adorablez. :)

I love the overalls! Haven't worn any since I was a little girl, but those are classy overalls.
As for the bathing suit, I wear mostly sport one-pieces. When it comes to swimming, function comes far before fashion for me. But that's just my personal style, I thought you looked great in your one-piece, not like a granny at all! I love your blog!

I wear a one piece that I found fit me, but I also have a two-piece tankini. My problem is that one pieces often won't cover the boobs well without pulling at the crotch. I managed to find my one-piece at Torrid, a fat girls store.
I was just telling someone the other day that I really dislike this period in time. One of the reasons is how naked we are. I used to live in Jacksonville, and I found the nakedness astounding. So many tiny pieces of spandex not covering enough of the body. It's not even about if you have the right type of body, either.
I think your body is sacred and you look gorgeous in that one-piece. You don't have to be nearly naked to be pretty.
